Hip Hop/Rock/Reggae Setting his mark in music, Lucio makes his presence felt when he steps up into the DJ booth. His strong charisma and natural instinct makes him a force behind the turntables, while his talent drives his crowd to a different level. He holds a natural feel for the crowd. Known for his creativity and ability to think on the fly, Lucio always hits his marks with the crowd. Matthew Lucio, born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii, began his music career as a musician taking up guitar, bass, drums, piano, and most notably the ukulele. Music is his passion, thus it was only natural for him to transition into the DJ world. Having a strong willed personality and a blissful mindset, Lucio always stays focused on the task at hand. He stays humble and keeps himeslf honest. Lucio always admires work from other talent's, while always looking for ways to develop and polish his skills and talents. Known to play different styles of genres, Lucio's versitility keeps his crowd guessing. He's able to mold and accommodate around the crowd at hand, adjusting to whatever environment and situation he's in while at the same time taking control of the room and leading the crowd into the night . He knows how to exploit the genres at their best, from one track to the next. Lucio has a particular tastes of yesterdays world, old school hip hop and reggae in particular, which makes up his sense of style, influence, and individualism. His music tastes incorporates the sounds of yesterday and todays music. Lucio's open format is phenominal, catching the crowd off guard as they follow his direction all throughout the night. Las Vegas houses the absolute best in nightlife and entertainment in the nation, which is what attracted Lucio to move to Las Vegas. "Here in Vegas I'm able to learn from the best, play alongside the best, and compete with the best." In August of 2007, Lucio arrived in the desert in search of his place in the DJ circuit. Lucio took his time, doing the small gigs, further developing his talents and coming up to par with the Vegas scene. His patience finally paid off in spring 2008 where he aced his first Las Vegas major residency, becoming one of the exclusive DJ's at Wynn's European Pool. As the year came to its end, Lucio soon found himself playing alongside DJ John Kamahele inside Luxor's Liquidity regularly at night. As Encore opened in 2008, Lucio began floating between the two properties, DJ'ing both European Pools. Lucio can currently still be found at these venues. Lucio had opportunities to play alongside a few well known talented DJ's, including Duane King (founder of PleasureDome) and DJ Mighty Mi (former member of The High and Mighty) and has also made DJ appearances at Blush (Wynn) Eastside Lounge (Encore) & DayDream (M Resort). It's quite a thought to imagine that Lucio is still in his early twenties and that his career is just beginning, and is still on his way to mature into his prime. Keep a look out as Lucio is making a steady rise in today's DJ circuit. When he's not behind the DJ booth, Lucio is usually working on tracks. Lucio keeps busy and produces remixes weekly and is known to release strong quality results. His work is commonly found in various DJ pools, Mixnight Party Portal in particular. |
